Two men charged with sexual abuse of young girls in their care [+] Source: Chiang Mai Mail

robert moss photoTwo men, one American and one Thai, were recently arrested and charged with sexual abuse against a number of young hill tribe girls between the ages of 13 and 15. It seems that the two men’s abuse of the young girls in their charge may have been continuing unreported for a number of years. Robert Moss, 55, the proprietor of Hor Fuang Fah, a foundation which supplied accommodation and access to education for hill tribe girls, with premises in Muang and Mae Taeng districts, together with his employee Chailong Siriwong, 49 were charged.
At least 100 young girls were resident at the facility. However, during questioning by police, the possibility that the foundation was being run for the financial benefit of its proprietor was revealed. One of the abuse victims told the school’s principal that girls staying at the dormitories often went hungry, as food was in short supply. Another said that she was afraid she would have to die before she could get away from Moss and Chailong, and that if she could escape, she would never go back. Others said that on many occasions, Moss and Chailong would force girls to go with them to their private quarters in order to ‘give a massage’. Outsiders were not permitted to enter the foundation’s premises, even when girls were sick and needed medical attention, or when the school’s principal needed to check on their health.

Thai Police Arrest Pedophile Suspect [+] Source: NYtimes.com

BANGKOK, Oct. 19 - At first, on the Internet, he was just a swirly face, something akin to a large multicolored lollipop that a man might give to a little boy.
On Friday, the Thai police said he was under arrest and charged as a pedophile after computer experts had unswirled the digitally altered face in a virtuoso act of electronic decoding.
The suspect, Christopher Paul Neil, 32, was found after Interpol issued a rare international appeal based on 200 Internet pictures showing the faceless man sexually abusing boys in Vietnam and Cambodia. Interpol said the man had abused a dozen boys in those countries, some as young as 6.
The Thai police said they had done some high-tech work of their own, tracing Mr. Neil to a location outside Bangkok through the cellphone calls of a friend.
Officials said Mr. Neil, who has been living in Asia and has taught English in Thailand, Vietnam and South Korea, would be prosecuted here and then sent to his home nation, Canada. The Canadian police are weighing whether to charge him under a recent law for sex crimes committed abroad.

Eric Franklin Rosser, 49, a former concert pianist, was arrested in the Thai capital by FBI officers and the Thai police acting on a tip-off and was in the custody of Thai police, the official said on condition of anonymity.
