Child trafficking is a lucrative trade involving criminal activity, corruption and deception. The act of trafficking consists of recruiting or transporting children within and across boarders using coercion, force, debt bondage or fraud for the purposes of exploitation. Children are bought and sold as commodities and are forced to work in abusive situations. They are enslaved into prostitution, battered, made to work in sweatshops and exploited as domestic servants under slave-like conditions.
